Seminar on “Work-based learning – a Way to Employment”
On March 27 a seminar on “Work-based learning – a way to employment” was held in RA Cհamber of Commerce and Industry which has been organized jointly with the project of “EU targeted initiative for Armenia” implemented by French Office of European Training Foundation. The Foundation is the agency of the European Union and promotes the development of the vocational education and training system for years in cooperation with EU Delegation in Armenia, state key institutions, social partner organizations and educational institutions. Core projects of ETF covered such essential topics as quality, training of teachers, recognition of non-formal and informal learning, career guidance.
Executive Director of RA CCI Mr. Araik Vardanyan evaluating the importance of the project highlighted the willingness of the Chamber to participate in such projects. Mrs. Gabriela Platon – responsible for the Foundation and other guests presented European experience to Armenian experts. Director of Yerevan Regional State College № 2 Mr. Hrachya Grigoryan, President of the Board of the College Mr. Karlen Hayrapetyan, Head of RA CCI Business Educational Programs Mr. Vahagn Hovhannisyan and others had speeches on the experience of vocational education in Armenia, problems and prospects, who clearly emphasized that there is more to do in this sector on that done.
The seminar is aimed at evaluating how the career centers of VET institutions support the organization of work-based learning and how productive it is from the graduates’ employment insurance point of view. The representatives of the companies, employment centers, trade unions, board members of colleges, directors and career advisors discussed the issues of more productively organization of work-based learning.
