The Workshop of Policy Outlook Report of National Business Survey
On May 31st a joint workshop on “The Discussion of Policy Outlook Report of National Business Survey” was held in the “Ararat” hall of the Armenia Marriott Hotel in Yerevan.
At the opening of the workshop, the Executive Director of the RA Chamber of Commerce and Industry Andranik Aleksanyan greeted the participants, pointing out the urgency and importance of the topic.
The conducted surveys had a purpose to:
- Raise legislative proposals for the improvement of the economic environment by businessmen,
- Find out the economic consequences of the epidemic and war within the business community,
- Evaluate government programs to address the pandemic and economic effects of war,
- Identify perceptions of corruption and to find out effective measures to fight against the use of its facilities in the enterprises.
Based on the received data, a report was made, which presents the problems and challenges identified during the surveys. At the same time, the suggestions submitted by the business community and by the RA Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aimed at overcoming these problems were summarized.
Petros Petoyan, director of the IMR research center, which conducted the surveys refered to regional and domestic challenges in the business sphere, businessmen’s opinions and suggestions, in particular, highlighting the factor of banning the import of Turkish goods.
The results of the survey and the suggestions were presented by the operational director of the RA Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Amiryan: “In recent years, as a result of surveys among businessmen, some priorities have given way. For example,” if in the past the business community was not so concerned about inflation, then as a result of the current situation it is in the first place. ”
As a result of the discussions, opinions were raised on the tax regimes, in connection with which Hrachya Muradyan, Head of the Methodology and Procedures Department of the RA State Revenue Committee, expressed his opinion.
Based on the results of the report and the workshop, the RA Chamber of Commerce and Industry will summarize, generalize the presented priorities in the following spheres:
- Tax Rates and Administration,
- Encouragement of Local Producer,
- Licensing and Permits,
- Expanding Access to Financial Resources,
- State Support Programs
As a Business Supporting Structure, the RA Chamber of Commerce and Industry will keep the above-mentioned priorities on its agenda and If necessary, it will organize similar meetings again.
