On July 30 about one dozen businessmen arriving from Alitus, Lithuania to RA Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented such sectors as food industry, transport services and logistics, medical equipments and plastic production, real estate, poultry with new technologies. Lithuanian partners were first attracted by delicious food from the point of joint partnership. Armenia’s climatic conditions are favorable for the production of fruit, vegetable and food.

Charge d’Affaires of the Republic of Lithuania to Armenia Mr. Saulius Valainis highly appreciated the potential of joint partnership with Armenia in the area of food considering it as one of the most attractive areas for the investments. The diplomat is sure that the tourism may be also developed by the joint efforts and compete with the best tourism centers. Armenia’s expected accession to the Eurasian Union Lithuanian diplomat considers as new opportunity for the development of bilateral relations. “One should take the best from each possible and every opportunity. I do think that it is additional opportunity that should be used both for Armenia and for Lithuania. At the same time we should not forget about the need to find new European markets”, – he said.

President of Yerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Andranik Aleksanyan pointed out that the meeting with Lithuanians are basically cognitive and naturally starting meeting as well, so we need to be prepared for the next steps in the forthcoming period.

Executive Director of Yerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Karen Martirosyan noted that sectors of bilateral cooperation between the countries having the same economy previously are becoming fertilizer production, food industry, agriculture sub sectors. Lithuania is agricultural country with the developed production of meat. Lithuania is interested in Armenia not only as new market for export, but also as partner for establishing joint production.

Armenia’s economy, priority sectors of development were introduced by the presentation. The businessmen discussed issues of mutual interest in the round tables, established new business relations.
